How To Playtest 

This video explains that you should always start to play test as soon as possible because if you leave it to late you could realise the game isn't fun or isn't how you wanted it to be after hours of work. Anyone can play test for you once they understand the basics of how the game works. The video explains different types of play testing and also gives examples of different games that had problems that could've being easily fixed with enough play testing. It even explains how some bugs in games can be turned into cool features!

This article explains all about different types of game testing, it explains the major risks in game testing and also gives 7 examples and explains them. 

Here are the major risks:

  • If the game doesn’t create a compelling experience for the niche audience
  • If the fun factor missing in the games
  • The game doesn’t include a player-centric design
  • If the Game is not unique, fast-paced or competitive
  • The gaming app fails because of broken features, poor video, technical issues, bad music sound, critical bugs, etc.
  • The game should have easy to use features and visual design and the game-play

Choosing my game So, the game idea I’m going to be working on for the rest of the semester is my scary game and I’m going to name it “house666”. The reason I’ve chosen the scary game is because I think it’s different and it will be really fun to make and hopefully not too difficult. Game Design Document

My GDD took me a while to complete as I knew what I was putting in there really was important information and I wanted to take my time with it to do it to the best of my abilities.  My game is a horror / scary game named "House 666" and this GDD covers everything you would need to know to go on and create the game. ( Link to my GDD ) Image - Scary Game GIF I used Dundoc to create my GDD and I found it really useful, once you spend a few minutes on it you realise how simple it is to use.  There was some small pieces I left out as I wasn't to sure on them at the moment and I also may add some sketches and screenshots time goes bye.
