Unity Tutorial 03

For this week’s tutorials I had to watch some tutorials, do the tutorial with Vuforia SDK and then complete the quiz.

The videos were fine and everything was clear, I ran into a problem when it came to the task with the Vuforia asset, I was required to use the Vuforia asset to complete the rest of the task and I couldn’t find the Vuforia asset were the tutorial said, I then went onto the comments of the task and there was comments explaining that apparently Vuforia is no longer available on Unity, this meant I was not able to complete this part of the tutorial but I read through what I would have had to do if it was available so I could learn something from it.

When it came to the quiz, I was fine to complete it, even though some questions where on Vuforia I was able to answer them because as I said I read through what I would have being doing anyways. Apart from the problems with Vuforia this week was fine, and I found it to be interesting.

Next week we will be attending Game Jam which I am excited for to see how my Unity skills are when working with a group.

Game Idea Research

Choosing my game So, the game idea I’m going to be working on for the rest of the semester is my scary game and I’m going to name it “house666”. The reason I’ve chosen the scary game is because I think it’s different and it will be really fun to make and hopefully not too difficult. The name I’ve chosen simply came to me because the game is going to be based in a house and the devil’s numbers are 666, so as soon as you see 666 you know what you’re in for.  Image - Creepy House Brief description of the game I have discussed this in my first game brainstorm but I have changed my mind a little so, firstly the game will be based in a house and your overall objective is to get out of the house of course it won’t be that simple so you’ve to complete some objectives and get out. Game Design Document

My GDD took me a while to complete as I knew what I was putting in there really was important information and I wanted to take my time with it to do it to the best of my abilities.  My game is a horror / scary game named "House 666" and this GDD covers everything you would need to know to go on and create the game. ( Link to my GDD ) Image - Scary Game GIF I used Dundoc to create my GDD and I found it really useful, once you spend a few minutes on it you realise how simple it is to use.  There was some small pieces I left out as I wasn't to sure on them at the moment and I also may add some sketches and screenshots time goes bye.
