Reading 06

This week’s reading task was continuing on our writings from the last few weeks, last week I highlighted and gave themes to all the parts I found most relevant in my annotated bibliographies, this week I had to write a paragraph on each theme and use the information I highlighted to help me with that.

I found the work we did in the lecture slot definitely helped me understand more as to what exactly we had to do this week and the video linked on the website also helped me see how it is done to high standard. I found that the work this week definitely helped me understand more about writing skills and each week I feel like I’m improving them. It’s definitely difficult to write in this style and would take a long time to get it perfect but I’m definitely happy with where I’m at, at the moment.

I think one negative about my bibliographies was that I didn’t put enough quotes in and I can definitely see why that would be important when I got to this stage but I guess I learn as I go along, a part from that I’m definitely happy with where I’m at.

Game Idea Research

Choosing my game So, the game idea I’m going to be working on for the rest of the semester is my scary game and I’m going to name it “house666”. The reason I’ve chosen the scary game is because I think it’s different and it will be really fun to make and hopefully not too difficult. The name I’ve chosen simply came to me because the game is going to be based in a house and the devil’s numbers are 666, so as soon as you see 666 you know what you’re in for.  Image - Creepy House Brief description of the game I have discussed this in my first game brainstorm but I have changed my mind a little so, firstly the game will be based in a house and your overall objective is to get out of the house of course it won’t be that simple so you’ve to complete some objectives and get out. Game Design Document

My GDD took me a while to complete as I knew what I was putting in there really was important information and I wanted to take my time with it to do it to the best of my abilities.  My game is a horror / scary game named "House 666" and this GDD covers everything you would need to know to go on and create the game. ( Link to my GDD ) Image - Scary Game GIF I used Dundoc to create my GDD and I found it really useful, once you spend a few minutes on it you realise how simple it is to use.  There was some small pieces I left out as I wasn't to sure on them at the moment and I also may add some sketches and screenshots time goes bye.
